The idea for my photography project stemmed out of taking photos of local veterans
at the MTHS Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony in 2009. However, I would like to
dedicate more time on my part to the project.
How it works: Local veterans who are interested in participating can register by
clicking HERE. Please register by May 1, 2011.
Once you register, starting in February 2011 and continuing through June, Jill Ocone
will contact you to arrange a time for a 1/2 hour photo shoot and interview where you
will bring something with you from the days of service (perhaps a photo in uniform
taken while serving, a letter, medals/insignias/patches, etc). Photo/Interview
sessions will be scheduled at a public location, such as a local library, park or
town/recreation hall. Afterwards, the intention is to have an exhibit of the photos at a
public location such as a library in conjunction with Veterans Day 2011. Participants
must sign a model release form at the time of the session. All participants will receive
one 8 x 10 print of the final photo which will be used as a part of the “Heroes Among
Us” exhibit.
